534th Regular Meeting (Hybrid), "Goodbye Summer (?)" on 24th of August, 2024

We had a regular meeting attended by seven members.

It was relatively a small number compared to regular meetings so that our teamwork was tested to make our meeting succeeded!

The meeting theme was “Goodbye summer (?)” presented by TM ZK, the Toastmaster of the Morning (TMOM). The exclamation mark tells his hesitation because some members don’t want to say goodbye as they want to do something before Summer leaves us.

Prepared Speech Session

We welcomed two prepared speakers, One was TM RM and the other is EK.

TM RM was a relatively new member to Toastmasters club, though, she was confident enough to delivery a speech about the communication theory. She was good at pausing, which gave audience to digest what she said and connect the theory to our lives.

TM EK who is in his eighty, gave a speech using PowerPoint effectively. He told us about the attractive points for foreign visitors to visit Japan showing beautiful (and yummy!) pictures.

Table Topic Session

The table topic master, TM SY prepared questions related to the theme of the meeting.

Due to the limited numbers of attendance, all the participants could practice an impromptu speech. The questions he prepared made us notice that each event we went through were very much connected to a season.

Evaluation Session

TM CE conducted an evaluation session and evaluated the first speaker, TM RM. TM RM’s project requires to revise today’s speech incorporating TM CE’s feedback. So she tried to make her evaluation concrete and detailed so that TM RM would easily accommodate feedbacks in her next speech.

TM SN kindly took the evaluation role for the second speaker on the spot, because some member could not come to the meeting due to an inevitable situation. Her evaluation gave us a good hint to deliver a speech effectively under the hybrid setting.

TM CE closed the session by confirming that our good teamwork made our meeting successful in spite of the limited attendance.

Best Table Topic Speaker: TM RM

Best Evaluator: TM CE
