The 549th regular meeting in Iidabashi and on Zoom.

We had our usual hybrid meeting today. The theme of the meeting was “What You Need Most.” We welcomed one on-site guest. In line with the theme, the grammarian chose the word of the day: “vital.”

We enjoyed two excellent prepared speeches, both rooted in personal experiences—one about the speaker’s hometown and the other about running. The evaluators shared many positive comments and also offered constructive feedback, such as incorporating more vocal variety and speaking with greater confidence. As challenging as it may be, it is vital for speakers to receive both affirmation and suggestions for improvement to support their growth.

The Table Topics Master prepared thoughtful questions and displayed them on the screen. His questions were relevant and engaging. Normally, we have six questions, but today he managed to fit in seven. Even our guest answered one and spoke within the allotted time.

Winners were announced at the end, and pictures were taken. Many members went out for lunch after the meeting—a wonderful time of fellowship and an important part of our club’s community life.
