The 553rd Regular meeting June 14, 2025.

The 549th regular meeting in Iidabashi and on Zoom.

We had our usual hybrid meeting today. The theme of the meeting was “Ultimate Desires.” We welcomed FIVE!! guests. In line with the theme, the grammarian chose the word of the day: “Fulfillment.”

This was a special day where we held the induction ceremony for our newest Member TM Asis, and everyone welcomed him with open arms.

In the prepared speech session, we had the first speaker TM Nakamura explain about her new project, where she was to visit the Osaka Expo and report it back in the upcoming session. She also introduced how AI suitcases were being used in the Expo.

The second speech session was TM Asis, who explained his research about emotional labor of foreign care workers in Japan.

Following this, was the Table topics session where TM Chie came up with witty questions on ultimate desires, with much of the guests getting the burden of the impromptu speech.

TM Mitsuko and TM Chie provided evaluation for our speaker respectively pointing out how TM Nakamura's project was quite different from normal route, and how TM Asis presented an academic speech, consisting of great logical flow and persuasion.

Winners were announced at the end, and pictures were taken. Many members went out for lunch after the meeting. Especially since it was the last day for TM Yoshiko before she moved abroad.
