A Very Special Meeting with a Remarkable Guest Speaker on May 24, 2025

We had the honor of hosting a truly exceptional guest today. One of our members introduced Linda Cruse, a courageous individual who has dedicated her life to helping survivors in refugee camps and war zones. Her remarkable journey includes escaping from a rebel army, enduring a gunpoint standoff, surviving a devastating landslide, overcoming severe hypothermia, and even suturing her own face. It was her first experience attending a Toastmasters meeting, and we were privileged to welcome her.

Linda's speech left an indelible mark on all of us. Her inspiring words and experiences resonated deeply, encouraging us to reflect on our resilience and the power of compassion.

In addition to Linda’s moving address, our club members delivered engaging speeches that sparked our imaginations. TM M.T. shared insights on how we can attract young members to our club from the unique perspective of an accountant, while TM M.S. spoke eloquently about how our club meetings have positively influenced her life.

The Table Topics session proved to be both enjoyable and enlightening, allowing members to express themselves on the theme of "Gift." Each speaker introduced their own unique gifts, prompting thoughtful discussions and a deeper understanding of one another.

Following the meeting, many members had the pleasure of joining Ms. Linda Cruse for lunch. The conversation was rich, offering a profound glimpse into the current world situation and the importance of philanthropy and advocacy.
